Looking for a Job?
Students graduating from the Computer and Engineering Technologies Division have many opportunities for employment. Job development within each curriculum is promoted at Wake Tech as an ongoing function through the Job Placement office and the various departments.
Students and alumni have several resources to utilize when looking for employment. One of the benefits to students and alumni is the use of the Job Placement office and its resources:
-
Wake Tech website to view job listings (www.waketech.edu)
-
a Wake Tech jobline (919-773-4788)
There are activities during the year which assist students in their employment preparation such as seminars and workshops. One large function that is held in the Spring Semester of each year, an Annual Career Fair, brings employers on campus to recruit part-time and full-time students and alumni. Over one hundred employers attend this function each year. Other methods of recruiting business and industry are promoted during the year.
Be prepared for employment with organizations that use computers to process, manage, and communicate information if you choose this curriculum! Graduates should qualify for a wide variety of computer-related, entry-level positions that provide opportunities for advancement with increasing experience and ongoing training. Duties may include systems maintenance and troubleshooting, support and training, and business applications design and implementation.
Some examples of jobs that have been recently advertised in the local newspapers include the following:
